Vauxhall Insignia VXR Supersport for under £30,000!
MORE dash for less cash is the proud boast of latest high performance model, the new Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport.
It replaces the 325PS Insignia VXR and is capable of a mind-blowing 170mph – 15mph more than its predecessor – yet costs £3,760 less than the outgoing car at £29,995.
The company claims that the new Vauxhall Insignia VXR Supersport produces more power and achieves a higher top speed than any other UK production car costing less than £30,000, including market newcomers like the BMW 135i M Sport.
At the heart of the VXR SuperSport is a 2.8-litre, V6 turbocharged engine, with a micro-alloy forged steel crank, classic 60-degree cylinder angle and die-cast alloy sump – all features found in many a race engine.
Producing 325PS, the engine uses a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve control for quick throttle response, and accelerates from 0-60mph in a mere 5.6 seconds.
And that quoted top speed is no figment of Vauxhall’s imagination, for in order to realise the true performance potential of the power unit, there’s no speed-limiter fitted.
Under the SuperSport’s muscular skin there’s an all-wheel-drive chassis with Vauxhall’s HiPerStrut front suspension, which maintains negative camber, improving grip levels in wet and dry. The company’s Flex-Ride adaptive damping system is also standard, and comes with a VXR setting for enhanced controllability at higher speeds.
Visual identifiers include blue ‘Brembo’ lettering on the front brake callipers while additional increments on the speedometer offer subtle hints about the car’s giant-slaying intent.
The Vauxhall Insignia SuperSport is available to order now through Vauxhall’s approved VXR dealers, but you’d better be quick, they’ll be in strong demand, so check out your nearest VXR dealer!
