Prices unveiled for new Skoda Fabia
PRICING and equipment levels for Skoda’s all-new Fabia have been revealed.
And, just as the original Fabia did 14 years ago, this third generation model is set to redefine sector expectations for quality, efficiency and equipment.
The 18-model Fabia range arrives in the UK in January and is offered in three trim levels: S, SE and Elegance, with prices starting from just £10,600 OTR.
Entry-level S models include six airbags, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, Stop/Start and electric front windows as standard, while SE models (from £12,760 OTR) add manual air-conditioning, alloy wheels, Front assist, Arkamys surround sound package and Bolero radio with telephone control, Mirror Link, USB and SD card connections. SE models also include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, height adjustable driver and passenger seat and a Maxi-DOT trip computer. Range-topping Elegance models (from £13,610 OTR) add even more features including, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, Light assistant, cruise control and KESSY – keyless entry system.
In addition to its generous equipment levels, the new Fabia features a striking new look, sector-best practicality, greater efficiency and a host of Simply Clever innovations. Utilising advanced MQB platform architecture, the new Fabia performs the impossible by being larger and stronger than its best-selling predecessor, yet tipping the scales at up to 65kg less. This significant reduction, along with the introduction of cleaner EU6-compliant engines makes the new Fabia up to 17 per cent more efficient.
The new Fabia also features a new personalisation programme that offers customers the chance to create their perfect car. The Colour Concept system allows owners to become designers, with 15 different body colours, and a number of wheel, roof and exterior mirror colour options. Buyers will also be able to choose from three interior trim styles.
In terms of space and practicality, the new Fabia’s interior is longer and larger than in the outgoing model, with all occupants also enjoying increased headroom. Although the new model is 8 mm shorter than its predecessor, its interior length has increased by around 8 mm to 1,674 mm. Elbow room is also greater at 1,401 mm (21 mm wider) at the front and 1,386 mm (2 mm wider) at the rear.
The boot is the largest within the car’s segment. The boot has a capacity of 330 litres (15 litres more than the outgoing model) and is considerably bigger than comparable competitors’ models. With the rear seats folded down, the load capacity increases to 1,150 litres.
Skoda brand director Alasdair Stewart said: We’re delighted to be announcing final details of our Fabia range as the car makes its public debut. The Fabia enjoys a loyal following in the UK and it has been our most popular model with buyers. I’m confident that the new car with its reduced running costs and high equipment levels will continue to be in-demand with new and existing customers alike.”
