New Zafira Tourer has keen pricing

Vauxhall has priced its entry level Zafira just below Ford’s S-Max equivalent.

VAUXHALL is taking the price war to its big rival Ford.
The company has announced that the entry-level new Zafira Tourer will be priced at £21,000, £1,200 less than key rival the Ford S-Max.
But a lower price doesn’t mean Vauxhall has cut corners. The Zafira Tourer ES1.8 comes with plenty of equipment as standard — air conditioning, cruise control, digital audio, MP3/Auxiliary connections, six airbags, sound system withseven speakers, active headrests and its renowned Flex7 seating arrangement.
Higher up the range are the Exclusiv, SRi, SE and Elite trims. The Tourer is positioned higher than the current model and raises levels of luxury, flexibility and design innovation in this sector of the market.
Vauxhall has made few changes to the design concept which it unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and follows chief designer Mark Adams’ visition of new company products.
Although the Tourer useds Flex7 seating, the concept has been moved along since its 1999 introduction and now offers even better levels of comfort and flexibility. The seating is made with better quality material and there is now more space available in the airy cabin.
But it’s not just a pretty face, the Tourer has been designed with the driver in mind. A new chassis, leaning on the influence of the Insignia and with a longer wheelbase and wider stance, gives better handing and comfort. Vauxhall’s FlexRide adaptive damping system can also be ordered as an option.
Being aimed at family motoring, the Tourer comes, as you would expect, with a host of safety features. Driver assist systems are fitted as the first time, along with Side Blind Spot Alert, Advance Park Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition. The park assist facility confirms that a space has room for the vehicle and guides them into it.
The Tourer has a choice of two new engines — a 2.0 CDTi diesel (three different options, including a 119g ecoFlex version) and a 1.4 turbocharged petrol variation. For those seeking a little more power, they can order the existing 1.8 litre petrol unit.
