Hyundai reveals details of exciting new Veloster
Hyundai has announced full details of its sleek new sports car, the Veloster, which goes on sale in February 2012.
The car features an unusual design, with two doors on one side of the car, and only one on the other, in a similar fashion to the Mini Clubman. Hyundai claims it makes access to the rear seats easier.
Prices for the new model will start from £17,995 on the road and the cars will have a high level of standard equipment including a 7in touch screen media centre, Bluetooth connectivity and reversing sensors to help with parking.
Described as a compact coupe, it will be powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder 140PS GDI petrol engine and buyers will have the option of a six-speed manual gearbox, or the first dual-clutch transmission to feature in a Hyundai. CO2 emissions will start from 137g/km and a combined fuel economy of 47.9 mpg. Hyundai’s Blue drive technologies which include Intelligent Stop & Go technology and low rolling resistance tyres will all be a feature of the Veloster which is the latest addition to the company’s rapidly improving range.
Customers will have a choice of two trim levels, Veloster and Veloster Sport and standard equipment will include 17” alloy wheels, Bluetooth Connectivity with voice recognition, climate control air conditioning, reversing sensors, front and rear fog lights and striking LED daytime running lights. The Veloster also features a stereo RDS Radio/CD Player with MP3/WMA compatibility and an iPod connection.
The Veloster Sport version gets 18in alloy wheels with colour inserts, black leather upholstery with heated front seats, a tilt and slide panoramic sunroof, cruise control, keyless entry with engine start/stop button and sporty alloy pedals.
A media pack and a red leather interior are available as options on the Sport derivative only.

All Hyundai Veloster models will be backed by Hyundai’s Five Year Triple Care assurance which offers a five-year unlimited warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks.
