Big day for classic car owners
GOOD news for classic car fans.
Vauxhall has again announced its backing for the annual classic car celebration and will throw open the doors of its Heritage Centre to mark Drive It Day.
The carmaker will open the centre between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, April 22. Any classic car owner is welcome to join them for some light refreshments and the chance to see of the biggest manufacturer’s heritage collections in the UK.
The centre is home to around 70 classic Vauxhall vehicles.
Now an annual event organised by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, Drive It Day encourages owners and enthusiasts to get on the road with their own classic car and show their support for the country’s motoring heritage.
Cars in the Heritage Collection range from the first Vauxhall of 1903 through to classics such as the Chevette HSR, Astra MK2 GTE and the popular Lotus Carlton. The latest ‘ground-up’ restoration is the 1975 Vauxhall HP Firenza ‘Droop Snoot’.
The Vauxhall Heritage Centre can be found on Park Street, Luton, LU1 3HG, behind the main Griffin House headquarters on Osborne Road.
