Aston so cool, they’re hot!
THEY’RE so cool, they’re almost frozen!
Iconic marque Aston Martin has won the award of being the UK’s coolest brand for the fifth time in the last six years.
They have once more topped the poll, in which they faced such world-famous design rivals as Apple and Bang & Olufsen, not to mention other carmakers. The Warwickshire luxury sports car builder also picked up the award for top automotive brand.
The chief executive of the Centre For Brand Analysis, and chairman of the Coolbrands Council, Stephen Cheliotis said: “Smooth, sexy and sophisticated; British built, high quality and hand finished, let’s be honest, young or old, male or female, opinion former or British public, who wouldn’t aspire to own what is truly the coolest car on the road. Number one in five of the last six years, this British icon is truly the coolest of the cool.”
The Coolbrands Initiative was founded in 2001 and has spent the last decade seeking the opinions of consumers and trade experts to pick the coolest brand in the UK. Factors considered include innovation, originality, style, desirability and authenticity.
There were 36 members of the “judging” council this year including Jessie J, Rob da Bank and Sadie Frost.
During the decade since the initiative was launched, Aston Martin has grown from a small-scale operation to one of the world’s best-known brands and marketing its strongest range yet, from the One-77, V12 Zagato, the DB9 and the luxury city car, the Cygnet. Not to mention such gems as the Vantage, Virage, DBS (including the Carbon Series) and the Rapide.
Cool, indeed!
