Is Panamera GTS the perfect present?
IF you haven’t send your present list to Santa yet, there may be one small item you would like to include.
Santa’s elves would need a big bow and lots of paper, but how about the new Porsche Panamera GTS?
It’s the kind of car that defines GT — Grand Turismo. A big, thumping 4.8-litre V8 offering 430hp with the sweet sound provided by its Sound Symposer and sports exhaust. Grrrr!
A combination of responsive engine and sporting chassis driving through all four wheels gives high levels of agility and performance.
But it’s not all about speed, incidentally topping out at 179mph, this car oozes class. Press a button and listen to the engine ‘breathing’ — the Sound Sympower channels intake noise into the cabin via the A-pillar and heighten the pleasure of the engine note.
Adaptive air suspension and the German car maker’s Active Suspension Management raises comfort levels and driving dynamics by adjusting the spring rate and electrically adjusting the damping system, combined with a self-levelling height adjustment function.
And the GTS comes with the Sport Chrono package which gives a variety of driving modes.
Outside or in the cabin, looks are all. The GTS sports the large air intakes and adaptive four-way rear spoiler from the Panamera Turbo. There are numerous black styling details and Bi-Xenon lights set off the front.
Inside, leather and Alcantara in a range of five colours allow the buyer to personalise the cabin.
Porsche has put together special optional equipment packages married with a black interior, exclusively for the Panamera GTS. The decorative stitching is in Carmine Red or GT Silver. The embroidered ‘GTS’ lettering on the headrests, and seat belts also in the corresponding colour, complete the overall impression.
The GTS is priced from £90,409. On the down side, Santa can’t deliver it until February next year. The Easter Bunny, then?
