Jaguars make purr-fect impression

Black beauty… a gorgeous Jaguar XK120

JAGUARS old and new are making headlines this week.
The famous British marque unveils its C-X16 concept car debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show while its sporting predecessors take to the tarmac at the Goodwood Revival this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A very special race will be taking place, which is the Fordwater Trophy for E-types, including some of the rare lightweight models produced between 1961 and 1966.
Well-known drivers at the event include Gerhard Berger, Jochen Mass, Adrian Newey, Andy Priaulx, John Cleland, Andy Wallace and Rowan Atkinson.
The famous history of Jaguar will be showcased by a display involving the SS100, the XK120 and XK140, the D-type and, of course, the E-type celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Throughout 2011 the anniversary has been marked in style with convoys of E-types travelling through London, Geneva, San Francisco and New York, a 28-metre sculpture towering over the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a record-breaking 767 privately owned examples taking to the Silverstone Circuit and exclusive E-type race meetings.
Last year, the Revival attracted 134,000 people over three days, most in period dress.  The weekend also features vintage aircraft and motorcyclesn.
