Celebrity chef will be dish of the day at NEC show
VISITORS to this year’s Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC in October can look forward to a feast of fun and great cooking with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo.
The charismatic cook will be sharing some of his favourite recipes and cooking tips with visitors in a series of live cooking demonstrations.
One of the greatest joys of holidaying in the outdoors is al fresco dining. Nothing beats the delicious aroma of a home-cooked meal, but even the most resourceful chef can find it a challenge to devise new ideas for dishes when equipment and ingredients are at their ‘on the move’ minimum.
Gino will be starring in the AGA Rangemaster Cookery Theatre on Wednesday 12th and Saturday 15th October, offering visitors the opportunity to witness first hand the infectious enthusiasm for the culinary arts that has earned him a loyal legion of fans worldwide.
Italian born Gino is a TV favourite; his summer series “Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel” was a huge success and he’ll be on our screens during the autumn with his new series, “There’s No Taste Like Home”.
Gino is no stranger to campfire cuisine having starred in ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ which he went on to win. Live cookery demonstrations can be enjoyed on every day of the Show from a hand picked team of local and national professional chefs. Each chef boasts their own area of food expertise, providing visitors with inspiring ideas for a huge range of dishes to tempt all palettes.
Gino’s appearance in the AGA Rangemaster Theatre is just one great reason to visit The Motorhome & Caravan Show.
The National Show is home to the UK’s biggest display of new 2012 caravan, motorhome and campervan models and is the only place in the Midlands where you’ll see them on display from the leading manufacturers. Trailer tents, folding caravans, camping equipment, holiday homes, campsites, great-value holiday destinations and thousands of essential accessories are also on offer – many at ‘show only’ prices.
A host of entertaining and informative features have been designed to help you get maximum enjoyment from your holidays, as well as your day out. An ‘Experts Advice Panel’ led by The Caravan Writers Guild will provide short informative talks on everything from security to technical issues.
If you are new to caravanning, take advantage of the free towing lessons on offer from The Camping and Caravanning Club (you’ll need to show your driving licence). The Club will also be presenting information on ‘trip of a life time’ motorhome ‘flydrive’ holidays to USA, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Canada and South Africa from the ‘Worldwide Escapes’ theatre.
Budding motorhome enthusiasts can get behind the wheel of a new Swift motorhome with The Caravan Club who will be offering free motorhome manoeuvring lessons around the show campus and the opportunity to test drive some of the best tow cars on the market – the winners of ‘The Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Awards’. The Club will also be running a temporary campsite for those that want to make the most of the Show and visit for more than one day.
